Sarah Lugenia A. Lord - Wilson

Sarah Lugenia A Lord was my mother's, Emily Ida Lou Waldrep, maternal grandmother. She married Cicero Columbus Wilson. She was born 15 Aug 1859 in Jackson County, Georgia, and died 18 Nov 1931.


Her parents were Philip Lord and Mary Pauline Thurmond(1826-1870). Mary Pauline Thurmond's father was William Thurmond who was married to Milly Lord, Philip's aunt. Apparently Philip and Mary Pauline were first cousins which was not all that uncommon back in the days. Together they had the following children:

Philip Lords father was Major W. Lord(1807-1861) who was born in Nicholson, Jackson County, Georgia. He enlisted in Company G, 16th Infantry Regiment Georgia CSA on 20 Jul 1861, and was killed in battle on 15 Sep 1861, at Richmond, VA.
Major W. Lord had married Teresa Dunson(1812-1893) in 1827 and they had the following children:

John Taylor Lord, Jr., was the only child on record born to John Taylor Lord, Sr.(1747 - ). The senior John Taylor Lord was born in Virginia in 1747 but died in South Carolina, not sure of the date. He had married Margaret Brown in 1767, in Charleston, South Carolina.

William Lord(1727-1825) was the father of John Taylor Lord, Sr. and was married to Milly(1727-1825)last name unknown. William Lord was born in Virginia but died and was buried in Wilkinson, Georgia in 1825. They had the following children:
