He was a U.S.Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the Cates Street Baptist Church in Bridgeport. He was a retired Weights and Measures Inspector for the State of Texas. He had farmed in Wells Community in Lynn County. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe K. of Denton,; two daughters, Glenda Kay Wheeler of Lake Dallas and JoAnna of Lubbock; a sister, Jewell Roberts of Lamesa; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson . John Decker, Lee Stelzer, Jim Fortenberry, Travis Carpenter and Leonard Fallin.
