Obituary came from his son Thomas Warren Waldrep: Warren Hamilton Waldrep, age 78, of DeKalb County, Atlanta, Georgia, passed away, Monday, October 18, 1999 after an extended illness . Warren was born in New Holland, Georgia on December 20, 1920. Since 1954, he and his family have lived in Atlanta. He worked in the automobile auction industry for over fifty years.  He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, prior to joining the Armed Services in December, 1941. He served in the Air Services of the United States Army during World War II. In the late nineteen forties, he joined other family members to start Dixie Auto Auctions in Atlanta and Birmingham, Alabama.  In 1969, he joined the Cox Enterprises, Mannheim Auction Group, assisting in the opening of the Atlanta Auto Auction. He worked there as Assistant General Manager and Fleet Services Manager until his retirement in 1986. He is survived by his family: Thomas W. and Jeannine Waldrep of Roswell; Johnathan H. Waldrep of Atlanta; and Rebecca W. and Eugene Jones of Tucker, with grand-children, Tyler, Travis, and Patrick Waldrep and Adam Jones. Also surviving are numerous family members in the Gainesville area including his brother, Richard Waldrep and sister Ida Lou Dunagan. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers, Peachtree Chapel in Norcross, Georgia. Graveside services and interment will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia.
